LP, Laura Pergolizzi il nuovo Rock USA dall’anima nera

LP  è una cantautrice Americana, di New York  che con il suo nuovo  singolo “Lost on You” ha spopolato quest’estate nelle radio e video di tutto il mondo. LP  già in precedenza era conosciuta  come autrice di canzoni portate al successo da Rihanna, Cher e Leona Lewis, Christina Aguilera.  Apprezzata e amata in America da quest’anno è stata conosciuta anche nel Vecchio Continente.  Ha conquistato pubblico e critica, portandosi a casa diverse numero uno in giro per l’Europa e un disco di platino in Italia (A “Che tempo che fa” con F.Fazio – Rai tre).

Lost on You è una ballata romantico-rabbiosa, di quella rabbia cosciente della sensazione della vita che corre e fugge. La rabbia che è paura, che è desiderio di non perdere ciò che la vita può offrire nel viverla assieme a chi si ama. Il desiderio è  vivere brindando alla vita e perdendosi l’un l’altro e a volte per l’altro.

Romanticismo rock, voce roca ma presente e possente. Laura Pergolizzi è l’insieme di una voce nera e capelli ribelli. Il look è minimalista, a dare poco importanza all’apparenza, alla forma, lasciando suoni e voce e sostanza per essere più che apparire.  Il video che racconta la sua canzone porta ad un contrasto visivo tra ciò che è bello e futile e ciò che è sensibilità e sofferenza. Viene raccontato con poche semplici immagini colori e toni di colori contrastanti, ricchezza e semplicità, futilità e sofferenza, bello e vivo. ( e la partecipazione della bellissima modella  Laura Hanson Sims e di Lauren Ruth Ward – nel finale).

Sarebbe troppo facile affermare che le origini partenopi  e sicule danno il calore alle canzoni, così forti e Il sangue nostrano e la sensibilità delle parole: Lei stessa si racconta descrivendosi  “La mia musica rappresenta un po’ la mia esistenza. Il mio primo album “Heart-Shaped Scar” è molto legato alla figura di mia madre, scomparsa quando ero ancora una teenager. Anche ‘Lost On You’ racconta un’esperienza personale…ora tutti conoscono un frammento della mia vita”.
